Welcome to our blog; here to record our progress as we explore history through research, experimentation, and replication. Furthermore, we're also documenting our mundane lives, with a similar philosophy of "starting from scratch," and striving toward more sustainable living.
I recieived a B.S. in chemistry in 2018 from Ohio University, and have research/laboratory experience ranging from quantum dot synthesis and wastewater treatment, to novel gene therapies and plant biology. I've had a lifelong interest in history; and first attempted making historical replicas around 2004, after seeing a flintknapper work his trade at a living-history festival.
I recieved a B.S. in social work in 2017, also from Ohio University, where Morgan and I met. I currently work as a drug-and-alcohol counsellor. My father instilled my interest in homesteading and history, through his participation in local "rendezvous," and the latter was reinforced later when we made our annual pilgrimage to the Ohio Rennaisance Festival.
